Office, Edge, and One Drive Settings for the Enterprise!

So I have been asked about how to get those standard apps ready on most enterprise builds.  These are simple, not to complicated not getting to crazy. Many admins make the mistake if there is a configuration I must configure it! This will lead to a world of pain, years of deploying Microsoft products has taught me to take the approach LESS IS MORE.

So I take this same approach with everything I do, so here are the base configuration to provide productivity. I will not be covering update settings int his blog I personal feel Updates and application settings are two different beasts and should be addressed as such.

Settings catalog will now be my go to whenever possible due to the flexibility they provide.

• Browse to Endpoint Manager > Devices > Configuration profiles > + Create profile

• Select Platform Windows 10 or later > Profile Type Settings catalog > Create

• Provide a Name and Descriptions and Next

• Use the Add settings picker to search for your configurations as noted below.

•  Next when ready and move onto Review and Create

Microsoft Edge:

Configure Internet Explorer integration:	Enabled
Configure Internet Explorer integration (Device)	Internet Explorer mode
Force synchronization of browser data and do not show the sync consent prompt	Enabled
Hide the First-run experience and splash screen	Enabled

One Drive:

Silently move Windows known folders to OneDrive	Enabled
Show notification to users after folders have been redirected: (Device)	No
Tenant ID: (Device)	Your Tenant ID
Silently sign in users to the OneDrive sync app with their Windows credentials	Enabled
Use OneDrive Files On-Demand	Enabled

Microsoft Office:

Disable First Run Movie (User)	Enabled
Disable Office First Run on application boot (User)	Enabled
Turn off Coming Soon (User)	Enabled
Disable Opt-in Wizard on first run (User)	Enabled
Automatically configure profile based on Active Directory Primary SMTP address (User)	Enabled
